A Green Homes Grant voucher can be used to offset the cost of building energy-efficient modifications to your house whether you're a homeowner or a residential landlord.
The grants cover two-thirds of the cost of making energy-efficient modifications to your home (or your property, if you're a landlord) up to the value of $5,000. You can apply for a £10,000 voucher to cover the complete cost of the modifications if you're on a low income or receive certain benefits.
One thing you need to consider is- the Green homes grant voucher cannot be used to offset the cost of a measure that has also received financing from the Energy Company Obligation (ECO). Both the ECO or free insulation grants and Green Homes Grants can be claimed as long as they are for different measures, such as loft insulation and cavity wall insulation.
